Robert Stodart Wyld reported that when Isabella Wyld (married surname Brown) died around 1825, there were five sons and two daughters. Elsewhere he also cites Mary Brown as the oldest of the family. The father, Robert Brown, in his will, does not mention his son Robert. However, the Scottish registers show a Robert Brown born to Robert Brown and Isabella Wyld, before Mary Brown. This suggests to me that Robert died somewhere between when his mother died around 1825 and when his father died in 1840. I have no idea whether or not he had any children of his own or got married.
