William Brown (1815 - 1871)
Here are some extracts from Robert Stodart Wyld's Memoirs, which I have not yet had time to convert into text. They are from a typewritten copy of the original.
William Brown died in late 1871. His wife died 10th March 1874. Death record could be BROWN, William, age 55, Kensington 1a 61. His wife, Charlotte Isabella Brown died 10th March 1874. Made will in 1873.
I obtained the following extracts from The Law Times Reports: Containing All the Cases Argued and Determined in the House of Lords, [etc.]; Together with a Selection of Cases of Universal Application Decided in the Superior Courts in Ireland and in Scotland Published by Law Times Office, 1881 - Page 16 Law reports, digests, etc - 1881:
William Brown, late of Bayswater, by his will dated the 19th Oct. 1871, he appointed his wife Charlotte Isabella Brown, and Thomas Brown, and Edward Wyld his executors, and appointed his wife sole guardian of his ... bequests to his son Charles Atherton Brown, and his daughter Constance Brown ... By his will he bequeathed to each of his daughters, Sabina, Henrietta, Caroline and Charlotte Emelina, upon her attaining the ...
William Brown and Charlotte Isabella Atherton were married in Chippenham, Wiltshire in 1847 (Indexed: March 1847 Chippenham 8 431). Charlotte was the daughter of Nathan Atherton and was born in Wiltshire around 1825. The children of William Brown and Charlotte Isabella Atherton were:
- Sabina Henrietta Brown - born 29 December 1847 New South Wales, Australia; christened 29 March 1848 St Andrews, Sydney. She married in 1886 either George Collison or William Albert Stratton in Kensington, London. (Kensington 1a 295, Nov-Dec 1886)
- Emily A Brown - born New South Wales, Australia, 1850
- William B Brown - born New South Wales, Australia, 1852
- Charles Atherton Brown - born New South Wales, Australia 1854. Married in 1884 Blanche Johnson, in Westminster, London.
- Charlotte Emmeline Brown - born 01 February 1862, New South Wales, Australia; christened: 27 March 1862, St Andrews, Sydney. May have married Mordaunt George Dundas in 1880. May have died in 1881 after giving birth to Lottie Everilda Dundas.
- Caroline Brown - born New South Wales, Australia 1856
- Constance Brown - born 6 Dec 1859, New South Wales, Australia. Christened March 1860, St Andrews, Sydney
